and noticed my eyes were blurry, can't read the newspaper etc. So I went to the opticians and had a full eye test and was told my percription had changed. I ordered a new pair of glasses and picked them up today, tried them on and everything seemed clearer than my old pair so left the shop. However when I got to work I realised I still can't read the newspaper and my weaker left eye is wondering all over the place.

So I suppose my question is has anyone here experianced anything similar?

OK!...;-)
What are your sugar levels like? I find that my eyes do weird things when I am running a little higher than normal.

Between 7 - 14. My 1st reading was 47.9
Longpants, I agree with queenie..........as soon as your levels settle to a little lower lever, your eye symptoms will improve and disappear.....after all, you have only had one week of treatment, so don't expect too much too soon.
holy macaroni!! thats high!! Hmm....I'm stumped and i've been diabetic for 22 years..maybe speak to your nurse at the hospital or if they offer eye retinopathy screening take it, they may be able to pick up what is causing this.

Thanks guys. I was starting to get a little worried, I can take all the diet restrictions and injections etc but loss of sight is a bit too much.
Longpants.....don't worry......permanent eye disorders e.g diabetic retinopathy is the end result of long standing poorly controlled diabetes .....and that is not you.
I'm the same LP....I wish you luck and if there is anything you want need to know I'm about most of the time :) QoM

Appreciate it - cheers
Did you pay for your glasses? Optician should not have prescribed any until your blood glucose is stable (or charged for the test).
