They suggest this to pregnant women to soothe morning sickness. I've found dry cereal or dried apricots are edible when you feel rough. And try and drink some juice. If you can't even keep that down, try flat lemonade - yes, I know it sounds weird, but it's very good when you can't even keep liquids down.
Next time, drink some milk before you go out (as Joe says, it lines your stomach) and force yourself to drink a pint of water before bed. You won't feel like it, but it really helps keep the worst of a hangover at bay!

A treatment I swear by which has been used in my family for years is coke and crisps. Yes I know it sounds strange but it works.
I've had stomach upsets and all sorts and after a few hours of being sick I drink coke. Just a tiny sip at a time and after a while I can keep it down. Compared to water which just comes straight up again. They do say that lemonade works the same way.
Once the coke has stopped me vomiting then I nibble salted crisps. Because I need the salt to retain fluid and the crisps seem to work the trick. You soon feel much better after that
