Build 3,000 home a day, I wish our government would build that many in this country.
There was a recent radio discussion on the shortage of house in London, and it was asked where would they build them, there is no space left, and the only way would be 'UP' ie skyscrapers.
This got me wondering, didn't we try that in the 60s and haven't they started pulling down those dilapidated 'tower blocks' with their graffiti strewn walls, out of service lifts, and dark and dangerous 'stair wells'?
The question must then be asked, how can cities such as New York with their towing apartment blocks manage to retain theirs? They seem to have decent apartments with operative lifts to all floors, why are Londoners so different?
