My Dad is type 2 and takes Benylin....I'm just thinking maybe he shouldnt! Have you tried Tyrozets? xx
The doc told my Mum (also type 2) that she could use any OTC cough syrup or linctus that she thought would help, also hot water with lemon and a teaspoonful of honey on it.

simple linctus (sugar free) from the chemist. Cheap as well, robitussin an covonia a lot more expensive. hope you a feelin better soon jpt
Over the counter products are useless and indeed if they did help, they would be unlikely to upset your diabetes.

Your cough wil resolve without any medication......but if it continues for more than 6 weeks or you start producing coloured mucous or start to feel feverish, then visit your GP.
