What's the quickest way to soften a leather strap on the front of a flip-flop so it doesn't cut in? Do other people have a  problem finding summer sandals that don't hurt your feet? It's made worse because I have tender scars across my feet due to an operation.

I have the same problem!  I recently got a pair from new look and they are really soft between the toes.

 

You can buy leather softening spray, or try rubbing vaseline into the post (if it is leather).

I had exactly the same problem with a new pair of leather flip flops last week. A colleague bought me a pack of Scholl Sore Spot - Moleskin. You can cut it to the thickness of the straps and then stick it in the underside so that you have a soft lining against your feet rather then hard leather. It has really worked and after the sore bits that we already there went I was able to wear them without any discomfort at all. It's really good stuff and only about 2 quid from boots i think.

oh, also I try (if i get the time) to wear them round the house with a pair of socks on until they have broken in a bit.

OOOH flip flops and sandles on blokes make me cringe, I just want to stamp on their hairy toes with my biker boots.

it's okay Dave, I'm not a bloke....my husband wears socks and sandals though, despite me telling him not to.
