Fao Sqad...

I feel like a bit of a hypochondriac lately, but wondered if you could help me out...

Over the past hour, I have had a weird feeling on the side of my head. It's my left temple, and it feels raised. Almost like a swollen feeling.
When I clenth my jaw, I can feel it more. My face is also really hot - but that might be because I am now panicking.

Any ideas?

I'm not sqad, but I wonder if it's your sinuses - when mine are inflamed, the side of my face gets really hot.

Do you think? My children both have colds, so maybe I have caught something.
My cheeks feel really hot, and I tend to panic (overly) if I think there's something wrong.

Have you got any Tiger Balm? I put that on the area of the heat, it hots up more but it really helps the pain.

There's no pain, more of a tension feeling.

I haven't got any Tiger Balm, no. I have to pop out now though, so will get some. I think Boots sell it.

Sorry to disagree with my partner boxtops, but i think that sinus problem would be well down the list of possibilities.

One or two spring to mind, both unlikely but need to be considered.

My advice would be to take Ibuprofen 600mgms and monitor the situation over the next few days.

Keep in touch for developments or the absence of.

Bluestone, if you're going to the chemist (and sqad will know what I'm going to say here) have a word with the pharmacist while you're there, they may be able to suggest something.

boxy....oh! dear....you and bloody pharmacists....why do we have doctors?

I always thought that doctors prescribed and chemists dispensed......seems that i am way out of touch in our new era of modern medicine.

Phamacists go through similar training these days until they diversify, sqad - a lot is dispensed via pharmacies these days, pharmacists are non-medical prescribers, NMPs have access to everything in the BNF within their areas of expertise....
