A friend of mine told me that the food from the same group/family of plant you're allergic to can give you a small allergic reaction or make it worse. Unfortunately I can't remember what she said about it, other than if you're allergic to birch you shouldn't have Benjamin's Fig in your house.
BTW I just checked a website to find tha name of the Benjamin's fig and it said that you should have them at all if you have astma or allergies!
