Window Cleaner In The Pouring Rain....
11 Answers
No, it's not the refrain of a song.....just a casual enquiry and observation. I wonder how many on AB have a regular window cleaner? Being proud to be unhouseproud I never have. The street has no view worth gazing at and I don't sit worrying about streaks on glass. If things get too grubby I give them a clean and then find something interesting to do.
A man with a ladder and a bucket comes round about every month and does all the houses that pay him. He climbs a ladder, wipes once with a squeegey and once with a chamois. He is doing this at the moment with the rain clattering down, as it often does here, and I have seen him often working in rainy weather.
The question I'm asking is, am I missing something, because surely the rain is simply going to mess up what's just been cleaned?
Or, in my negligent outlook, have I missed an essential secret of keeping a perfect home?

I guess if you have a regular customer schedule, as opposed to just knocking on doors and asking if they want a one off window clean, then the best you can do is say the weather is a factor out of your control, the customer either gets lucky on the day; or doesn't. It's unlikely the windows will be as dirty as they started anyway.
