clothes on Christmas day. I often wonder as I see people who are happy to go to dinner, or the theatre, dressed in t shirt and jeans, which i wouldn't do. We always had a new outfit at Christmas when young, not that we didn't get new stuff the rest of the year, but this was always something a little bit special. Shiny patent shoes and the little red frock coat, that brought back some nice memories, any you remember?
Jamie Oliver apron and tall white hat.....cooking all day for familly and friends....about 9pm I'll take off me pinny and sup all the dregs of wine that the others couldn't stuff down their necks.. Christmas Day?...love it.
My kids will be dressed in "best" clothes. Son in a shirt and tie (as much as he will protest it!) and daughter in a dress - looking every inch the Veruca Salt that she is :P
We are going to my parents, so it will make a change this year to not be hot and flustered when everyone else turns up looking perfect!
I only used to get new shoes at the starts of September, they would have to last the year. I have never received clothes as gifts, I remember receiving handkerchiefs from my nan when I was 6.
I will spend most of Christmas day in the kitchen, so skinny jeans, nice top and some big dangle earrings to make me feel christmassy..Oh, and my Apron :o)
