I managed to get an appointment this afternoon and my doctor said it was most definitely a sebborheic keratosis, not cancerous and may drop off in a couple of months. If not, I could leave it or as its in a place where clothing irritates it, I could have it "shaved off" under local, or have liquid nitrogen applied to it. How successful is either of these treatments please?

My GP made an appointment for me to go to the minor surgery clinic. The GP surgeon dabbed on local anaesthetic and just scooped it off with a tiny sharp ice-cream scoop thingy, stuck a melonin plaster on it over some Vaseline. Had to keep it dry for a few days and then change the plaster, two weeks later there is a tiny mark, all gone. Go for it.

I've had skin tags in the past which are not that different, if the shape is convenient you can tie a bit of cotton very tightly round it and it'll drop off - but mind was about a quarter of an inch across. It's the second time in 20 years I've had one removed from that area - could well be the same site but I can't see round there to check!
