Shellac Again
6 Answers
I am having my shellac nails removed this week as my nails keep breaking - even with shellac protection, - although the shellac is not peeling, I feel I want to let my natural nails underneath have a break from all the polish. I have just got some CND Solar Oil which is lovely and I am putting it on nails and cuticles to try and strengthen them. My question is, when I get the Shellac removed, how can I get my nails in tip top condition again? Is the Solar Oil enough or do I need some kind of polish as a protection against breaking? As you will see from my previous thread, I had Shellac removed incorrectly last time - with a file - and now my nails are really soft and breaking low down at the sides.

I take Collagen tablets every day and they have made my nails grow strong and healthy looking and improved my hair as well. Give them a try, you should see improvements within a month to six weeks.
you will have to let them grow out....and this is why i will never have false nails again. they make your nails absolutely gross underneath. you also have to file your nails regularly to strengthen them.....sounds silly, but as they grow, they do wear down at the ends. so file them, use solar oil and some nail strengthener and a top coat at all times. you mat even want to take a hair/nail supplement if they are very weak. eventually, they will grow out and look much better x
These are the ones I take smurf but I've bought them from Costco in the past as well.

I stopped taking Omega 3 as I didn't notice any difference but I'm not suggesting you should if you are happy taking them.

get them off and give your nails a chance to breathe, then start from scratch. Its the nail beds that get ruined with these nails, I should know been having mine done for over 30 years and my own nails are ruined the just wont grow they break off, but every three months or so I remove them myself with acetone/nail polish remover and then leave them to breathe for about 10 days.
