Can Vomiting Cause Throat Cancer?

Can vomiting (3-4 times a day-sometimes more) cause throat cancer and how would you test for it?

i think it's very unlikely, however why would you, or whoever be vomiting that much?

Sorry em, I should have been a bit clearer. I had a gastric sleeve back in September and I seem to be vomiting after almost everything I eat and I was slightly worried. I had a torn esophagus a few years ago after being bulimic for many years so I was just curious if it can lead to worse things.

I seriously doubt it. I'd worry more about what's causing the vomiting. Your post is a little vague. Any further details?

Ah, that's better. You need to speak to the surgeon who performed the banding as on occassion they do require adjustment.

I have just realised how dumb this question is! lol I should have just phoned the doc, I was just wondering if any lovely people on here knew if it was likely and how would you know if you had it.

Have you had the vomiting checked out yet?

I remember a girl brought in when I was in the emergency surgical unit last year when my gallbladder went infected, she had had a gastric something fitted and was vomiting a lot, sounded awful. Best to get it checked out sooner rather than later - not good to have so much stomach acid up and down your throat x

It's not a band ChilDoubt (been there, done that!) this is a gastric sleeve where they remove part of your stomach altogether.

Are you bringing up everything you eat or just some of it?

I get sick quite a bit.

i honestly don't know, i do know about acid reflux, and that is awful. I wish you well, advice from doctor is needed, not sure if sqad will look in.

No Jenna, I haven't had it cheked...it began about 3 weeks ago. I can keep fluids down, fortunately, but little food.

I can't eat much anyway ummmm(which is a good thing) so what I am eating I am bringing up. It's very odd. x

You still need to speak to the surgeon vodkancoke so that he can determine how best to manage your symptoms.

Either contact your GP or depending on how approachable your surgeon is some tell their patients to phone their secretary's and arrange an urgent clinic appointment in such instances.

help needed quickly then, because if you haven't been getting any food to stay in you will be on the way to being ill. sorry if sounds ominous, just i know how quickly this happens, been there too i'm afraid.

If it has only been a short time frame, a few weeks, then I'd have thought women who have bad morning sickness could be sicker numerous times for longer and I've never heard of them being more prone to throat cancer because of that.
