What other initiatives could the government give up so it can concentrate on this issue?
Why not the cycle-to-work scheme?
Or the midata initiative?
Or tackling obesity?
Or the National Child Measurement Programme?
Or the analysis of controls on the marketing and promotion of food and drink to children?
Or the 'The Third Evaluation of the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme'?

Do you think that perhaps, that policy initiative is in the domain of Lynne
Featherstone'a office, and that issues arising from immigration and benefits are more appropriately handled by the Homes Office?

UK payments relate to cases where migrants have moved to Britain, but left their children at home. When they arrive in the UK, they register with HM Revenue & Customs for the benefit.
The money is then paid direct to them, so it can be sent home. The children do not have to live in the UK or even have visited.
