At work and every time I close the car door I get static shocks. So much so at work that I actually hate having to touch anything now because they are so frequent and strong, they actually hurt.
Dont know but would love to know the answer. Once I touched my son on the arm and gave him such a shock he nearly leapt out of his skin. Blooming hurts doesnt it.
Use fabric softener in your clothes. Get anti static seat covers for the car or remember to touch the window before touching the metal on the car. This discharges the electrical charge.
I thought the window thing worked but I tried that yesterday and still got a shock. I kick the car door closed now but I can't walk around the office kicking stuff.
Lol, that might be my only opton OG. The shoes I normally wear to work are my Uggs and they aint cheap. There's no way I'm keeping them in the cupboard. :)
Quite often the cat snaps me but the other day I snapped the cat he got such a fright poor thing. Use body lotion and definitely try and avoid synthetic clothing good luck.
You can buy "anti static straps" to prevent shocks from your car.
I've never had one, so I don't know if they actuay work or not. Do a search on Ebay, they're only a few quid so you never know ........
Try clapping your hand together before getting hold of anything metal this disperses the static. Make sure your on you are on your own when you do this because if your seen clapping your hands together for too long somebody might just throw you a fish.
I believe the issue with the car "anti static straps" is that you get a shock because you are charged rather than because the car is charged, so even if they did earth the car they aren't going to make any difference.
I have a fleecy dressing gown and every morning, when I go to have a wash, I get a shock when I put my hand in the water. I daren't have a shower, first thing. My hair would stand on end!
