Aspirin And Ibuprofen Together?
9 Answers
I always thought that it was dangerous to combine the two but when searching for a laryngitis cure I saw the following (cut and pasted below)
4 ibuprofen* (total of 800mg) every six hours – this is a prescription dose of ibuprofen. Check with your doctor first. Do not take a prescription does of ibuprofen without consulting a physician.
2 aspirin* every four hrs., aspirin chewed and swallowed slowly without water, allowed to sit on the throat. After 15-20 minutes, sips of temperate water.

BMJ 1975 has a letter on interaction and it seems to be about one interfering with absorption of the other. Hence some sites saying blood tests if they are being done may have to be done more frequently.
The Aspirin as above is trying to mimic Aspirin Mucilage which sqad may remember Sister swearing by, when he was a junior. Referred to as aspirin muck. I tried to get it made up a few years ago. First find a pharmacist who knows what it is and there was a £25 dispensing fee. Wow! Use chewable aspirin.
