Breast Screening Service.

I had my letter today for my appointment. These appointments seem to come around alarmingly quickly. I know they are necessary but they are so painful.

At what age do they stop screening?

I have absolutely no confidence in breast screening,. I had breast cancer 10 years ago, never showed up on the mammogram but they were convinced it was there. Tumour grew within a month, suggested I have a partial masectomy, I said wanted my whole breast removed, just as well really as it was in another part of my breast. Had they left it not sure I would be here today as I had stage 3 aggressive breast cancer. Forgive me if I think mammograms are not that good, although I still have one every 3 years on my remaining breast.

Good for you riptide - sometimes people just go with their gut instincts - which you did. good for you
