Alopecia

Is there any effective treatment for alopecia of the beard region.

I once got a patch of this which, after appearing and growing for almost a year, shrank rapidly and disappeared. So far as I am aware there is absolutely no cure and thus this is among the many afflictions where the medical profession has achieved nothing more than recognise its existence and gice it a name. However, I have to say that I wonder if it could be associated with suddenly increased stress levels - my case coincided with a peak in the stress burden.
