Costochondritis
2 Answers
hi, has anybody had/got costochondritis. for the past 3 months i have had a pain in my right said where my ribs are, the ribs are tender to touch, i cant lie on my right side, it hurts more if i have been doing the same thing for a while ie walking sitting, the pain goes away if i lie down. I have had an ultra sound and an x ray and neither of them showed anything up, paracetamol and tramadol dont work anymore and my doctor doesn't seem to know what it is, do my symptoms sound like costochondritis or could it be something else?, i also have asthma and psoriatic arthritis. Thanks in advance

Worth speaking to your rheumatologist about the possibility of fibro as it tends to crop up quite often with autoimmune problems like inflammatory arthritis (I have RA and am on pregabalin to help with that kind of pain).
Have you seen a physio? I've had comments before from osteo and physio about ribs popping out of place and "stiff" ribs and just let them get on and do their thing.

Hi thanks Eve, i dont see my rheumatologist for a while, i will make a doctors appointment and ask about it, No i havent seen a physio, the last time i saw my doctor was before my x ray and he said if it doesn't show anything then just leave it for another 6 weeks and see if its still there, thats easier said than done when your in constant pain
