Make-up sponges, girls?

I usually wear liquid foundation and apply it with my fingers, however, I've just bought an Elizabeth Arden cream compact which comes with a tiny sponge which I'm finding very difficult to use. Just wondering how other girls apply their make-up?

judging by some of the ladies who apply their make up on the tube, I would suggest they use a trowel ;-)

I tend to find the thicker, denser sponges work better. 

Usually takes a little while for some of the foundation to soak in but once you're used it a few times they work really well for me.

Bought some really thin ones the other day and they're useless and the foundation just soaks though and I think there was more on my fingers than my face and it just wastes it!

Application wise tend to work from the bottom upwards and from the inside out to make sure it's blended properly and always moisturise first and let it soak in for 5/10 mins.

I use a make up sponge as I find that if i use my fingers it always looks streaky and uneven. I use a round, flat, thick sponge.

I would try do a stripe along your forehead, cheeks and chin then blend from your nose out.  Personally I prefer using my fingers because sponges leave lines, but then I use a sheer liquid foundation rather than a cream compact.

I bought some cheese wedge shaped sponges from Boots years ago and I'm still using them. After every use just rinse under hot water until clean. Every so often soak them in boiled water for a couple of hours to sterilise them. I love them

I know you're supposed to use a sponge, but I still use my fingers.

I use a liquid foundation and a natural sponge, it's fantastic. You rinse it in water first, then wring it out so it's almost dry and apply the foundation with it. Rinse it out again afterwards and it's ready for next time. They're quite expensive but they last for years.

Bit off track but i apply fake tan to my face and neck area every so often then just a little pressed powder each morning is all that is needed.

Ambre Solaire works a treat and smells delicious.

I've tried sponges but could never get the hang of it so I just use my fingers.  I think you can blend better with them anyway.
