To get chicken pox twice in three weeks? Thing 1 came down with chicken pox on 11 March, then I got it (really mild case) and then boy #2 and thing 1 got it at the beginning of this week. I have been fine since last Sunday but have felt unbelievably tired for the last two days also achey, sneezing, vile headache and fluey. Today I have started to come out in itchy spots (no heads yet). Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like you may have shingles?
Well, I always thought chicken pox was a 'one off' thing, but apparently not.
My daughter's had it twice, and when I took her to the GP he said it was "quite common" to get it more than once....?

I googled it and found out you can get it twice, but twice in three weeks! Feel rubbish, haven't felt this poorly since I had suspected glandular fever.
Daughter has had it three times.
Have you been to the docs sherr?

Sounds horrible :-((
Poor you, hope its not shingles as they're v painful. Are the spots. all over or following a nerve

Hi all, not been to the quacks as it is shut today. Got little clusters of spots all over and my head itches like mad (like when I had chicken pox two week ago). Boy #2 has been hit really hard with it (soles of his feet, on his lips, etc) so maybe I got a stronger dose from him.
The strong effect Sherry IS described -

passage thro a human host (that would be you)
intensifies the virulence of a virus

and is due apparently to the fact that you and Thing share transplantation antigens. - there's an Easter thought for you !

the mild case doesnt really sound like Chickenpox
it is much like the second dose - Chickenpox in adults makes them feel vile for weeks

go to bed and make your family wait on you as the princess-of-the-realm you really are.
Awww you poor thing, you're having a rough time of it, no wonder you've felt exhausted.

I had the can you get chickenpox more than once saga a few weeks ago when they thought I had it - I had it badly as a child but in the few days it took them to do the tests to see if I was resistant I was kept in hospital on an antiviral drip just in case (dangerous with the immune suppressing drugs I'm on).

My GP said medically you aren't supposed to get it more than once but they come across quite a few patients who say they have - I even had medical students come to look at me as apparently chickenpox diagnosis isn't always as straightforward as it may seem.

Not sure what it was, my body just having a laugh probably, I think it just gets bored! ;)

Take it easy and rest up as much as you can, could be a viral rash or something
No.....very rarely do you get it twice (if ever) and certainly not within a 3 week period.

I agree with the post of Peter Pedant( well, the medical bit anyway ;-))
