According to this the average person has 12 takeaways a month. That seems like loads to me!

I'd probably have three in one month, tops. I get the odd Indian and the occasional trip to Mcdonalds or KFC if I'm feeling really lazy. Aside from feeling like I've gained 10 stone after each of those meals, I wouldn't be able to afford to do that much more often.

How much take-out do you reckon you eat in a month?

Once a week usually, although we have been known to nip to our local bakery fr a pie from time to time. 12 times a month seems excessive to me.
Once a month, usually a kebab on a sunday, if it's a shish it's quite healthy. I don't like takeaways often, they get boring.
Oh, once a week!
I can't remember the last time I had a takeaway of any description, so probably twice a year............
That's loads!!

I probably have one a couple of times a month, maybe three. Usually if someone comes round.
Before I had Little Tiggs I'd have a Chinese once or twice a week. Its right near the bus stop where I got off on the way home. These days, maybe once a month or once every two months. I try to cook from scratch but I usually have a stash of frozen ready meals as well.
Possible twice a month and normally Fish & Chips.
I haven't had one in months. If the stats are true, then someone is eating a hell of a lot of takeaways.
Think I had Curry Sauce, Fishcake and Chips sometime last summer, prior to that, I can't remember the last time. So about once a year for me.
I'm not too surprised by the figure of 12 a month.
My sister (married for 45 years) has always cooked from scratch and baked etc. Last year her husband suddenly decided she was doing too much and they now have an Indian, Chinese, and fish and chips every week.
When we lived in the UK we used to have at least one per week, sometimes 2 so on average about 1.5 per week. Hear in France there aren't nearly so many take away opportunities. The pizza van comes once a week and the fish and chip van ....yes, fish and chip van (look up his website 'cod en bleu' ) once per month. It is however a lot easier to eat out as we have 5 restaurants within 5 minutes walk and another 15 within 10 mins. drive. As for being lazy there is no need to wash up in a restaurant.
one meal our or takeaway per month, and then I literally eat two thirds and keep one third for the next day!

cathx
Once a week Chinese from a proper (and not bad) restaurant most weekends but not every one, no MSG or such in the food. Probably averages out at 40 times a year.

In a way I like the idea of living off takeaway all the time but I do always feel like crap after one because they're soooo fatty. And you must have bottomless pockets.
We used to have a takeaway once a month, usually on pay day. Now, it's more like every six weeks or so
probably a couple of times a week, if fatties out he prefers to go to the chippy or chinese on the way home.

Also, takeaways are treats in my mind. If you're having them more than once a week it's not really something to look forward to is it?
None, not ever.
I used to love fish & chips but I can't eat it anymore. It upsets my stomach :o(
Fish and chips about three times a year.
