Products That You Do Not Get /understand

This question is personal to everyone but are there some products that you cannot understand why people buy them when there is an alternative.
I do not get shower gel when you can use soap. Also herbal teas when you can make fruit squashes.
Those are only two examples I sure here are lots.

What, that stuff we've been using for 150 years without a single recorded incidence of death by contamination. Do me a favour.
Still, I suppose you could always slip on it and break your neck.

Bottled water to drink at home when there is a perfectly good tap. The mineral water companies must be having a field day.

they are supposed to gently tickle various points on your head and make it tingle and supposed be quite erotic or soothing.

why have chairs when you can have stools?
why have a couch when you can have an armchair?
why have a laptop when you can have a desktop computer?
why have a car when you can have a bike?
why boots when you can have shoes?
why have glasses when you can have cups?
why have ... well the list is endless isn't it?

i cannot understand why this is an issue... why you would be surprised because at a purchase when there is an 'alternative' and why you think one thing is better or more acceptable and correct than the other.

but a tissane isn't a fruit squash - squash has fruit and sugar, a herbal tea or tissane has dried herbs. I know some have dried fruit or hibiscus added.

Woofgang, that'll be because it has already been drunk 5 times before it got to you. The additional chlorine probably hasn't done a lot for it. If you find the taste improves in the summer and autumn it will be because the chlorine is neutralised in the pipe before it gets to you because of the higher water temperature.

Makes you think doesnt it, I wonder just how many times the water we drink has been urinated out of some animal, considering that the water is billions of years old!

I've no idea why anyone would want an all singing and dancing mobile phone. I have a phone to text and/or call people. I have a camera if I want to take pictures. I have an ipod if I want to lisen to music. I have a laptop if I want to use the internet. I don't see why a phone needs to do all these things.... But I don't particularly care that other people do, although I think my friends think I'm a bit antiquated.
