I am 35 and have grade 2 breast cancer & stage 3 ovarian cancer."
This is the name of a Facebook blog/account set up by the above mentioned lady who lives in my home town. She is a single mother of 3 daughters who was diagnosed last year with the above 2 diseases - both primaries.
I urge ALL you ladies, And men to take a look at this if you can. Maria is trying to bring awareness of these diseases and gives an honest, touching and humorous account of her experience, awareness and fundraising efforts.
She is an inspiration to me, when i start feeling sorry for myself I remember how much more unfortunate she is than I. She would give her right arm to be in my more fortunate position. Her long term prognosis is not good, particularly from the ovarian point of view. Yet she reminds positive and optimistic.
I am humbled by this lady. And touched. And I hope you are too, please read.
I lost a young friend to breast cancer a few years ago - she had a young family too. Anything that can be done to increase awareness and de-mystify the illness has to be a good thing.
