I'm a little more clever these days with what I use on my hair. Did you do a patch test before using the dye? I doubt it. I've only bothered once, and don't know many people who do. It's rare, but anaphylaxis has been known through using dye. Better off having a boring hair colour than risking your health!
Get some piriton (or similar) from your local chemist, it will help calm the itching down a lot.
Your main problem will be that now you have had a reaction to a hair dye you will probably get a worse one next time, always do a patch test before applying any dye, even if you have used it before and it was fine.

always confused- the doctor said exactly the same thing about it been better to have boring hair colour than risking your health. the doctor said its the peroxide whats dpne it. ive been given some shampoo and some cream and its really helping. not itching half as much now. green hair? oh gosh, that IS a disaster!! lol. i would be gutted lol. my natural hair colour is auburn, got bullied at school because of my hair colour, got called ginger bitch, ginner. hated it i did so i ended up dyeing it dark brown.walked into school, everyone wo well shocked!! the bullying totally stopped. but even now, im not sure wether to go my natural colour as im older, but worried i get the mick taken out of me again.
thanks daffy654. very helpful. never done a patch test tho. very silly of me i know. i have proper bright red hair i love it but it fades quickly and im getting a bit tired of having to keep up with it. i was guna get a dye with no peroxide in but like u say,i will probably get a worse one next time, im not sure if to risk it or just give it a total break for a while.
Now I know this might not be much of a comfort now but once you are a lot older the chances are that your red hair will fade down to a lovely champagne blonde. My husband used to be a real carrot top, but as he's aged his hair colour lightened so much that it's now the colour of a nice glass of champers!
