How unpleasant a question.
It is a very odd question.
Question Author
Not really, let me explain, in a OAp they are left to carry on and in the creche's the same thing seems to be happening.

everything is not all cup-cakes and fairy dust Mamalynn
Is that right - my goodness thank you for enlightening me, I shall climb down from my cotton wool cloud and descend to earth.
Is that really what you think?

In any decent care/nursing home OAP's are not left to get on with it.

They are certainly not left to get on with it in crèches and nurseries...
Gran67 must have far more experience than you or I Ummmm

If you put your child in a creche for 8-12 hours, do you think they are giving your child 8-12 hours attention ?
My nan does art, karaoke, gardening, story times, hair and makeup....and other stuff. They obviously have a choice whether to join in or not.
Do you give your child constant 8-12 hours attention if they are at home?

The answer to that would be a NO.
Question Author
I don't have any experience, I'm just going by what I've heard.
Don't listen to what you hear then.
I couldn't agree with you more Mamya that the question is unpleasant.
Perhaps it is a misguided attempt at humour.

I always thought word of mouth is the best recommendation
//I don't have any experience, I'm just going by what I've heard. //

Bloke down the pub told me the CIA control the sun - I've been indoors ever since.
Not always. Some people just like to whine and moan.
The is a statutory ratio for carers per child in a nursery. Under one and one-year-olds - 1:3, Two-year-olds - 1:4 etc.

I may be wrong (and I probably am) but there isn't a set legal ratio for adult to adult care in a home.

I have worked in nurseries in the past, and by no means are the children just /left to carry on/
Some good advice for you Gran67.
Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
Classic case of 'shot yourself in the foot' post

That is not always followed through, always-confused.
