Ramapril Cough

Has anyone been taken off ramapril because of a dry cough, what was your replacement and did the cough go? Thanks for your help.

No I haven't had personal experience BUT the cough will go IF it is due to the Ramipril.

Yes there are plenty of other drugs to lower the BP that do not have a cough as a side effect.
I'm on Ramipril and have never experienced this side effect at all.
Yes I was on Ramapril for over a year and developed a cough especially when I went to bed. I put up with it for months and when i mentioned it to the doc he took me off ramapril and put me on adalat. It went almost immediately to my relief
I put up with it and it seems to have eased since it's been ages since I last noticed it.

Been on Ramapril since '09, developed a cough after about 3 months, put up with it, and it went after a few months, no more probs.
Did develop a cough after a few months but not 100% sure it was th Ramipril. What I do get from time to time are cramps in my lower legs and that I would like to get rid of !!
I was taking Ramapril and had a cough. Mentioned it to the doctor and he put me on Cadesartan. The cough went straight away.
hubby was on ramapril couple of years ago developed a terrible dry cough especial at night not much sleep for 2 weeks.went back to docs he put him on candesartan (amias) cough went straight away.i am on ramapri 2.5 plus 5.of amlodipine not a cough in sight.
