Im sitting at home alone. Power has gone off but the inverter is running but no power to the electric fence and my dog is going nuts barking and growling and wanting to get out. Do I get my pop gun and let off a couple of shots or sit and quiver.

I'd be getting the biggest gun I can. Keep safe Brin.
?
how big is the dog?!

let off a couple of shots, would be my option

Don't think size of dog is the deciding factor, if you let a dog out and any possible intruder has a weapon, you effectively sacrifice the dog, 'cause they (the dog) don't know any better, a couple of shots in the air might persuade intruder to go away
Where the devil are you, Brinjal?
I beleive Brinjal is in Zimbabwe.

I'd let off a couple of warning shots.
Oh, wow!! Keep safe Brinjal.
Get the machine gum primed....oh, and a few grenades too.

Tee hee have just let off a shot and a family of bush babies ran for cover. I think thats what was setting Bruno off. He seems to have settled now. Feel abit silly now.
Very true, baldric :-/
better safe than sorry, Brinjal....
I don't know how you bear living like you do, Brinjal. I couldn't stick it.

It can get stressful but I'm too old to up sticks and start a whole new life somewhere else. I'm originally from new Zealand and have thoughts from time to time of going back but would not be able to get much out of here so stay for financial reasons I guess.
Loved my visits to NZ - North or South Island, Brinjal?
Maybe things have settled down a bit, have they? We don't hear too much from there, lately.

South. Christchurch. Was there for the big shake in feb 2011. They are trying to have elections here (joke). So things are getting restless here and can be very unsettling
mmmm, from the frying pan to the fire so to speak...I enjoyed my 2 visits to Christchurch (stayed at the George Hotel both times).
