if you goggle checken pox infectious period (same virus) you get:

Someone with chickenpox is most infectious from one to two days before the rash appears until all the blisters have crusted over. This usually takes five to six days from the start of the rash

I would say longer myself - but tht is only because I am watching
Foyle....
When I had shingles a couple of years ago I am sure that I was told that the only way to pass it on to others was for them to come into direct contact with the fluid from the blisters (unlikely). l only had half a day off work. It cleared up pretty quickly for me.
Mic had shingles about 15 years ago. He had no time off work and used a lotion the doc gave him to ease the itching.
so long as they are covered and pain isn't too bad... spots will probably clear quite quickly but the pain could linger for a while
Poor you...once blisters have stopped oozing you're not infectious but...pain can linger for several months..my dad still on tabs for pain three months now !....
The only thing to add to the advice that you have already been given is that, like any virus, it will make you feel more tired and overdoing it will slow recovery.
good point... rest , good nutrition and cr@p TV would probably be best
