Can a thyroid problem affect your eyes - as in scratchy/itchy/pressure behind eyes ? Also have aches in all my joints especially arms, wrists ache badly.
I am awaiting results of bloods for thyroid, however like last time I bet the results are normal.

The symptoms that you describe are not typical of any thyroid disorder.....although an underactive thyroid could explain the aching problem that you describe........but there again so could other problems.

I await your thyroid results with interest.
Have you had inflammation blood tests done like ESR or CRP?

Hi Eve, no, no blood tests for these - I have been having spells of sudden dizziness, heart banging in chest, almost fainting and a feeling of 'not being here' together with fuzzy vision and like my eyes are about to pop out of my head, I had a bad one last weekend, the worst Ive had so far, after this 'attack' I felt clammy, sweaty, shaky and fatigued and slept for the rest of the day. My GP said it could be heart probs or thyroid - its not a hypo and my blood pressure is fine.
To me, most of those symptoms sound like a classic anxiety attack.
Eyes about to pop out of head does seem like a thyroid problem.
Aching joints are more suggestive of an inflammatory arthropathy such as rheumatoid arthritis.

The eyes are puzzling...any xerophthalmia (dry eyes) and xerostemia (dry mouth) ?

A blood test to determine your inflammatory response and a full immunology screen might be advisable, just for completeness.

Hi Nom... Yes my eyes have been very scratchy but no redness..also very watery but only when I'm outdoors one of them tends to water copiously. My knees are bad aching and painful together with my wrists. Mouth does not feel dry.
Then there's really nothing to suggest any overlapping Sjogren's.

As for the aching joints, is this a longstanding thing or of recent / sudden onset?

My knees began getting painful around February this year, coupled with my wrists which suddenly started aching and have also got more 'achy'. I can no longer wear a watch or any 'fitted' bracelets as I find it too uncomfortable.
