Itchy Ear

I have an itchy right ear and it is driving me mad. On and off for weeks now and feels like someone it tickling my ear. No associated noise with it. It seems like it is inside the ear. Any one any ideas how to stop it.
I have not been swimming recently and it is not an insect.

You do not mention discharge or deafness, so i assume that they do not exist.
In which case this sounds like a mild case of otitis externa ( probably due to eczema).Steroid ear drops would be the answer, but not sure if you can can get them over the counter.The alternative would be to buy Hydrocortisone cream 1% and insert the cream into the ear canal with a cotton wool bud twice daily.

An awful lot of hair care products contain chemicals that cause ears problems. I for example can not use Pantene products. Have you changed yours recently?

Thanks both I will try the cream. Do not use hair products. Ain't got any. Hair that is!
