Whistling On Tv Ads

Can anyone explain to me why so many ads on TV have whistling in them? I am partially deaf, but whistling comes through loud and clear and is very annoying and painful! It used to only be Homebase, now it seems to be every other. Don't these ad agencies have any 'new' ideas of their own? And just when you think it can't get any worse, up pop VW with a screaming baby! Anyone with a screaming baby will tell you, it is not funny!

Homebase have used that one (Peter and the Young Folks I recall) for a few years so must find it effective

I agree. I hate whistling. It makes me taste the colour of bile and I get nauseous. Sounds weird, but is true.
