If you were, say, at the scene of an accident, do you have any first aid skills which would help you to help others.

I've been thinking about this lately after a few recent incidents, one where I saw a cyclist hit by a car and another today when a man collapsed on the bus.

I did a lot of first aid training when I was younger and picked up other skills from voluntary work I did but I could do with a refresher but I do feel restricted now by mobility (or lack of) issues though I helped at both incidents.

I wondered how able to help with things like incident control or first aid others would be.

any first aid skills are welcome
I thought you were commenting on the cow trampling case where the paramedic stayed in her car ( didnt like cows apparently ) silly cow !
My daughter and I are doing a one day paediatric first aide course later this month.
I did a First Aid course when I was at work, many years ago but I am sure I would be absolutely hopeless now. I would not be able to recognise any kind of illness or injury and would probably do more harm than good.
Yes, first aid and a bit extra (defib and dishing out certain drugs). I think first aid training should be compulsory at school
We routinely attend BLS courses in work, I have basic First Aid training and carry a First Aid kit in the car, have done since I was based in W. Germany with HM Forces, where such a kit was a legal requirement, as it pretty much is everywhere in mainland Europe.

I've also got a high-viz jacket in the boot that was surplus when I was a Special Constable.

Thus far, I've not needed to use any of them, thankfully.

I wish it were a requirement here ChillDoubt, save with high vis and something like a foldable stand with a reflective light on to assist in alerting traffic to an incident. I know cars have hazard lights but it can be placed further up a road to alert to an oncoming hazard earlier, especially somewhere where the hazard isn't clear.

First aid training at school would be a great idea too.
