When my younger son was about 13/14 I think he was worried he was turning into a girl as one of his breasts was quite swollen and the other was showing signs! I told him it was normal and probably something called gynaecomastica (not sure of spelling without Googling) but it took a visit to the GP to convince him (what does mum know?!)
Over the next year or so they both looked normal

my son had one at 15.....it gradually went away and nothing sinister. see his gp and get it checked out, but be reassured it is fairly common and will probably resolve itself. support your son by letting him know these things happen and everybody gets weird lumps, bumps and thingywhatsits every now and then x
