Visiting Phuket

Hi Three middle age girls! visiting phuket in january, what area would anybody
advise us to stay in, we are looking for an apt or small villa within easy distance to a beach and markets etc. we dont drive. Is there sightseeing trips available,
a friend suggested hiring a tuk tuk for a few hours or a taxi to take us around
,would be grateful for any advice anyone one could give, thanks

Kata or Kata Noi are lovely, a big hill (walkable) separates them. I've just booked some friends into a hotel there in January funnily enough, plenty of bars and restaurants and plenty of opportunities to do day trips, the elephants of Phuket are a must, it's a great day out.

How much did you want to pay for an apartment? There was a stunning 2 bedroom one come up, about £2k for 2 weeks.
