I've had a letter re. housing which has put me in band B5. Nowhere in the letter does it explain this. The band reasons just says "No housing need". I don't understand what this is either! Any ideas?

different councils have different bandings (A1, A2, B1, B2, etc.) and different meanings allocated to each banding - after looking through your application and any supporting evidence or information they will decide the band and that will then inform how high a priority your need is, and all that. From what you say it sounds as if your council has decided that you are currently suitably housed and therefore not in housing need - or at least not a responsibility of the council to house. Don't know who your council is, but there should be a lot more information available on their website about what B5 means, how they come to their decisions about bandings and so on.
