After watching Dragons Den recently and seeing new fake tan called "Skinny Tan" on the programme which is taking this country by storm after it's success in Australia I thought I would try it. All the "dragons" wanted to invest in it so that was convincing proof in it that is surely was good. I'm not a fan of fake tan due to the mess it makes and the absolutely dreadful smell. This advertises that it smells tropical like coconuts ........and can reduce cellulite (I doubted that fact!)

Well it arrived yesterday so I tried it this morning, a complete body cover - it is coloured dark brown as a guide so you can see where you are covering. It promises no streaks at all ......... imagine my horror after I had applied it, it looked so dark I looked as if I had been abroad for several years - really silly as I am so fair with blonde hair. It was streaky too - it said it would not streak at all! The smell is much the same as I expected, that horrible pongy fake tan smell. You are advised to keep the cream on for at least 5 hours, 24 hours if possible and then shower it off to leave a lovely tanned colour underneath.

I had to pop to M&S this afternoon to take something back as I am off on holiday on Saturday. I kept my head down as I looked so awful, the smell seemed to radiate from me too. Talk about embarrassed! I nipped into the store loos which are brand new with gleaming white seats. When I stood up to flush the loo, the seat was brown (no nasty thoughts please!) Gosh, it had come off the tops of my legs all over the seat, although it did wipe off!

I am now off to have a shower, praying that the zebra lines down my legs will disappear and I won't be wrapped up in a beach towel for the whole week on the beach, cringing with embarrassment!

Won't it wash off under a powerful shower, Ann ?.

I'm hoping so Tony ............... fingers crossed!
there is a middle aged lady working at my local newsagent whose fake tan is so "faked" she looks like she has just walked off the set of a Bollywood movie as an extra ! she looks ridiculous.

That's how mine looks Dee - I was too polite to say!
How about if you use that gritty exfoliating stuff to scrub it off while under the shower, Ann.
Sorry to hear of your plight, Ann, though it did make me smile, especially the incident in M&S loos! Hope it washes off soon and you can get a real tan on holiday. :)
Smother yourself in baby oil, it seems to loosen the colour, then have a good soak and exfoliate.

They should really be pinched for saying streak free, a fake tan is only as good as the person doing the applying.
Lol how long does the tan last for? Try showering using a flannel or one of those scrunchy things.
Or perhaps a brillo pad?
Hi, Ann...never had much luck either when I have tried to achieve a golden glow....
Tony's knowledge is amazing...."gritty exfoliating stuff"....good thing he's not an ad writer though.....☺
Ouch! lardy. (how you doing?)

It says "don't worry if it looks streaky, it will wash off under the shower"
Hmmm - not sure about that claim (looking down at zebra legs) but there again I haven't tried washing it off yet - got involved in Chatterbank ...... but going now! Will let you know :)

Maybe Tone uses the exfoliating gritty stuff Gness - LOL!
Sue them, take photos before you scrub it off.

oh well, it does suggest it will look streaky then? Until you shower? Perhaps you're judging it too soon?
Hi Gran. I'm fine thanks. Daughter has been staying with me for the past couple of weeks so there's been plenty of retail therapy involved!!!

No Ann, a good scrub down with Swarfega works for me !.
God,Tony,I hate the smell of Swarfega (unhappy memories)
You haven't washed it off yet? Jeez, don't be flapping just yet, go get in the shower and wash it off (if you've left it the correct amount of time).

Let us know how it turns out
Ok then giveup, just for you I'd use WD40 !.
