Hope this is ok in this section as most seem to answer here?

Your experience and advice would be helpful please. Got an 11yr old freezer, I seem to feel its not working like it used to. Stays on longer on number3 setting (out of 4) and it ices up quite quickly. Have just done a defrost and the mess was awful but expected I suppose. Now wondering if to get new one after all this time, but whether to buy frost free or normal one? Also I have one of those frost-free mats which I've never used but tempted to do so if I bought normal freezer. You comments and advice would be gratefully received. Thank you.

I have a frost free fridge freezer. One of my better buys. When it goes to freezer heaven I wouldn't hesitate in buying another one. No messy, time consuming defrosting.

Thanks Jeza. I wondered if the food kept frozen as long as usual as I don't know what to expect from this type of freezer. It would be nice to have the freedom of the job of defrosting but do you have to have access to rear of unit for cleaning as ours is not easy to pull out?
