I am feeling full of self righteousness having completed a significant part of the CHristmas shopping. Most of the non perishable food is bought, some presents are bought, the decs will be bought tomorrow.

THis is the first year since I cant remember when that I haven't started on 23 December.......

#seemyhalo# ;) I am a goddess.

I started in August- sorry.
Well done you, have some wine to reward yourself ;)

I'm in the cushy position this year of just having to buy 2 ipads, everyone else is getting cashola.

I might take your lead about the non perishable foods though, everything's in the shops already so I might as well take advantage.

I'm gutted that my smug self righteousness has paled into insignificance by those more organised than me...... ;)
gosh Barmaid.. what did you buy?
Hahaha, sorry BM, how are you by the way?

The sad truth is, I have to start buying bits early as if left till December I simply couldn't afford it.

December is also Mini Boo's birthday, so tis a dear month for us!
My gift shopping is almost done, I have hit Lidl for frozen lobster, my Waitrose delivery is booked. I only buy a few extra decorations each year and it depends on what I see and like. I have started making my christmas cards but i do that ate because I make some to give away to charidee first.
I'll see your halo and raise you a pair of wings and a long white nightie.
not ate, late.
I do have a few presses sorted and a few identified for purchase. Mr Cake is going to get a clementine and a walnut if he doesn't give me a wish list soon....

Food in no shape or form has been considered or purchased. We never have a classic Xmas dinner which I appreciate butnitndoes mean I need to plan an entire meal to impress ather than wheeling out he traditional which would be so much easier.

Decs only get put up when we have family visiting for Chrimbo, my tree just needs bunging in a pot, oasis hidden with pine cones and then plugging in. It takes five minutes to put my decs up!
Hiss boo
I planned some Christmas shopping yesterday. I had loads of free time (because there were two of us doing a one-person job) at a survey site , between 9.30am and midnight where the only nearby 'attraction' was the brand new (massive, two-storey) Sainsbury's right next door.

I probably spent so long wandering around in there that the security staff have me labelled as either 'suspicious' or just simply 'odd' but at least I've got some clearer ideas of what I'll be buying for Christmas this year ;-)
The only presents I'll be buying this year are three lots of flowers by post from the channel islands. And I will be sending no cards, the money will be going to the cancer centre at our local hospital instead. And I will be putting up no tree or decorations. Yipeeeeee!
I'll be lying on a beach in my bikini on Christmas day sipping a cocktail or three, bring it on!!
I wish my tree was like that Eccles, I made the unfortunate decision of buying a 7ft one covered in that fake snow, you need breathing apparatus on when you put it up, takes about 4-5 hours to assemble (with the clean up)
I don't buy presents...just cash in cards. OH will get his Mum something though...
Does he buy it Ummm, or do you get it for him?
Made the cake yesterday, have bought a few presents for the grandchildren and bought/eaten half a tin of Roses.

We have all the grandchildren with birthdays at this time of year.
Ohh, we once decided that OH would buy his Mother's present and that worked really really well, bet you can't guess who she blamed!!!!!
Rocky, you have no idea how much I love my tree and how smug I feel five minutes after it comes out the loft..
I would revel in that smugness too ;)

Ideally I'd get another tree but after what this one cost Mr R would kill me.
We go out together, Rocky, usually when we're getting the last food bits. He's good like that :-) His dad will get a bottle of Jameson's and money...
I don't put up a tree or decorations and take the xmas cards down on boxing day!!
