I get numerous chest infections, and was advised to get red flannel to wear against my chest. Long ago people here in Ireland had great faith in it.

Save your money and don't bother.
Sorry, but this is the biggest load of tosh I have read in a long time
So, yellow, blue, green, violet, brown, white, or black flannel wouldn't be as beneficial ?
Wrap up warm in cold weather.
Well I'd never heard of that but folk remedies fascinate me & I wondered if there was any link between cochineal being used as the red dye and some ancient remedy. I found this

Indeed. Everyone knows that rubbing a potato (preferably a Maris Piper) over the left ear whilst reciting Keats is a more tried and tested method...
right ear snags, right ear
No... the right ear is for a bad case of the clap (I see how you became confused).
LOL...Obviously my parents have kept me in the dark!!
Final frontier.
Surely you know all there is to know about po-ta-toes ;-p
Mash, roast, chips.....

^^that's dinner :-)
do you mean woollen flannel or cotton flannel? what shade of red? (I am a research witch)

piggynose flannel can be made from wool or cotton.

The theory is quite simple, warmth is comfort - red is warm, as is flannel.

Someone asks about Goose fat too - again any fat is a good insulator against cold, the wrapping afterwards is to keep in the warmth and protect the clothing.

No magic just folk lore and common sense in equal measure.
so would a red ice lolly keep me warm?
Well if you want to be pedantic, no....I shall rephrase .

Red is generally a warm colour (on the colour spectrum) - Flannel is a warm fabric (unless you have frozen it first) , combine the two and you get a nice cosy wrap.

Hard of thinking is a cross to bear.
Hmmm. I'm sure Amazon will do them, if you just mean a normal red flannel. Can't honestly think it will help, though.
