This is a kinda paracetamol dose
and I am certainly used to seeing lower
e dose of ibuprofen for adults and young persons over 12 years old is:
• one 400mg or two 200mg tablets every 6-8 hours
• but no more than three 400mg or six 200mg (1200mg) in 24 hours
• leave at least 4 hours between doses
Gllug glug - if you 've taken it, you've taken it
id there is any omeprazole in the house you might take that as well.
commonest side effect - stomach ache.
apparently you cant poison yourself with ibuprofen - I've never tried.

As a one-off, it may be OK, but I wouldn't personally. That is a very high dose. Anneasquith is right when she recommends taking paracetamol as well. I take ibuprofen on a daily basis for back pain and related things, but the pain management clinic people are always adamant about only taking ibuprofen with food and not going over the recommended daily dose, otherwise it can lead to stomach bleeding.
some years ago, a friend who lives in Norway had terrible toothache one sunday, and found that there was no emergency dentist available. so she rang the local health centre, who asked if she had any pain-killers in the house. she told the practice staff she had just over half a bottle of 200mg ibuprofen tablets; she was advised to swallow the lot in one go.
