The Batah Foundation is a group set up in 1995 to give restful breaks among beautiful scenery while providing the chance to tackle stress-related problems.
The Batah Foundation was set up in 1995 by, Dr Bill Harcus, a GP specialising in occupational stress, and his wife, Sandy, a Baptist minister. They organise week-long, residential breaks for adults to enjoy a restful break in pleasant surroundings while also providing the chance to tackle stress-related problems.
They can be contacted on 01482 320243.
The name Batah comes from the Hebrew word meaning 'resting so that strength can come back to you'. The Batah Foundation, a registered charity, hopes to be an antidote to what we now call the 'long hours culture'. The foundation is dedicated to helping people under pressure, to rest and re-evaluate their lives and goals. Its breaks provide a week of rest and recuperation with time to stand back and take stock.
