It is on the subject of BEST ANSWERS.
Yes, they are a "bit of fun" and yes, they are here to stay.... BUT......
in the last couple of days one poster was given BEST Answer being the first poster 5mins after the OP...How does the OP know that it will be the Best Answer?
Another OP gave a BEST ANSWER when the poster only gave a web site.....nothing else....no comments....just Googled, copy and pasted the website.

I hand no blame to poster, but please OPers, be more selective and please give the thread at least 4-5 hours to run.

If a post helps a thread starter the most - regardless of when posted or what the content was - isn't that good enough for best answer?

if they're bothered sqad im sure they're quite capable of raising the issue themselves, no need for you to campaign on their behalf.

I recently helped someone with numerous answers on a particular theme and never even got a Thank You, just a recap on what still had to be solved!!

Perhaps not everyone is aware that BA can be updated as better answers come along.

My favourite Best Answers are those given to the only poster who agrees with the OP, you can almost hear them cheering 'See? I knew I was right!'.......whilst ignoring the 100 odd dissenters.
