Leg Ache Due To Laptop On Lap?

Hi I have noticed that since using my fairly old laptop on my lap while watching tv, The laptop got quite hot and I started getting a dull ache most of the time when sitting down with legs on footstool. It is my left leg, at the front between knee and hip. Doc said it could be arthritis but it is a burning ache, I wonder if it is muscular. Only happens when I sit down and start using ipad. - I have stopped using the laptop on my lap and now I use my ipad instead. I still have this stinging burning feeling. No marks or swelling on leg. Could it be the ipad or do you think it is arthritis, which I do suffer from in knees and toes as well as lower back ?

sounds postural to me. can you sit on a cushion to change the angle of your hip flexion when using the footstool?

Sounds like osteo- arthritis of the hip.
Always made worse by movement, cramped conditions as in being sitting in a car for a long time and of course extension of both hips as you use your footstool.

My footstool is the same height as the sofa so my legs are straight out. Would it be better without the footstool do you think ?

get a cushioned laptray

despite the name laptops are not really meant to sit directly on your lap - they need space for air to get under to keep cool

It's very clear in the "rules" for our work laptops that we must use them on a table, not in our laps - the posture's wrong, and they get too hot nestled on our fabric laps.

No woofgang, no swelling, just more comfy with legs up as I have short legs !
