is this a 'condition'? or just one of those things?

people like keith duffy and shannen doherty, both have one eye that seems to be slightly out of alignment with their face

not enough to make them look odd obviously but it is there

is this a known condition? is there any reason for it?

just curious really

thanks

Very few of us have faces that are perfectly symmetrical. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
think sqad will tell you that it is very common for people to have this

my eyes have changed shape so i have been told by the experts and they say this is common and not to worry
never really noticed it but I suppose it's within the range of natural variation. My own glasses never sit straight, which must mean either my eyes or my ears are asymmetrical.
It's just more noticeable in some people, I can see a left/right difference in photos of my own face but I don't know whether others see it, I've never asked :)
You can see how your symmetrical face would look like here....
Sorry, forgot the link

jno; have you tried straightening your glasses:-)
And these people get called Isiah .......
I've noticed it more in Irish people

my glasses done sit straight, but its because i have a slight bump on one side of my nose, after an op, and the rests sit in that - i have to bend one side to make them straight
I think it's just natural variation in everyone. In some people it will be more obvious- although i haven't noticed it in your two examples there.
ken - every five minutes...
Far away the most commonest cause is just as posters have mentioned........just normal facial asymmetries.

There are rare causes of this, very rare but they are associated with other, mainly boney deformities.

Try googling leontiasis ossei.
doherty's are fairly noticeable but not unattractive all the same

Leontiasis is a complication of leprosy - which I have neva seen.....

leontiasis /le·on·ti·a·sis/ (le″on-ti´ah-sis) the leonine facies of lepromatous leprosy, due to nodular invasion of the subcutaneous tissue.
leontiasis os´sea , leontiasis os´sium hypertrophy of the bones of the cranium and face, giving it a vaguely leonine appearance.
There was that chap in the bible who had that problem wasn't there. Isaiah is think it was.
PP the London Hospital

I have never seen a case.

It is a complication of many diseases but i didn't know that leprosy was one of them...........

Leontiasis.....just means "lion face".............to me.
jno, perhaps you ears are at different heights, not your eyes.
I have just got it......
