Any ideas?  I've had a sharp (but not constant) pain in my right breast for a few days and this morning I thought i felt a tiny lump where it was hurting.  I'm seeing the doctor later today but wondered if anyone had any ideas what it might be, other than the obvious (and scary) of course!  Trying not to worry but its difficult!

it could be a cyst which are often harmless, the pain could be attributed to the stretched skin around the cyst. Go to your GP though as soon as possible. Most lumps are harmless but they must always be checked up!

Are you a breast man, ICEMANSAV?!

Seriously though, I got this about 4 years ago. It turned out that I had a rather large lump in my left breast, so I got it checked out, had a biopsy taken, and it turned out that it was benign. I didn't need to have it completely removed (the lump, not the breast!) as it went down of its own accord a few weeks later. Always better to be safe than sorry though! So make sure you show your doctor.

The female form is always special whatever part  Georgit ;-)

of course you need to see the doc, but there is a thing called "idiopatic breast pain" whih menas that you have a pain in your breast or breasts for no discernable reason. Its actually quite common and was responsible for a fair few unneeded ops before scans and biopsies were the norm

sorry, that's of course "idiopathic" also known as mastalgia

The practise nurse at my doctor's surgery, told me the sharp pains I was getting in one of my breasts was quite normal & nothing to worry about.

However, if you have a lump too, you've made the right move by seeing your GP.

Good luck & I'm sure all will be well anna.

i had the old 'pain and lump' thing.  apparently the odds are - if it hurts then more than likely it's nothing serious.  mine turned out to be the old cyst problemo.  good luck, try not to worry.

take care

From experience all i can say is get it checked out, not by your doctor but in hospital, make sure you get a referal from the doctor, and dont take no for answer, good luck.
