Panic attacks are caused by psychological factors, but the actual attacks themselves can manifest themselves in a physical manner - vomitting, dizziness, headaches, knotted stomach etc. If you do get them, I would advise you to talk to someone about them, whether it's professional or just someone you can trust - just sharing your anxiety will possibly help you to get over them. Also, don't feel ashamed about them or guilty. I had them a few years back and eventually spoke to someone about them and that was enough to start me on the road to recovery. Panic attacks are an illness, and you can and should get them treated.

Thanks 4 your answer WaldoMcFroog
Waldo is absolutely right - addressing your condition is a large part of recovery. You will find that such conditions are an increasingly common factor of our modern stressed lives, and more people have them than you think - a large problem is the stigma that can be attached to such problems, either by others, or by the sufferer themselves. Treat it like flu - see your GP, who will doubtless be experienced in such matters, and may prescribe for you, or as a first instance, Waldo's advice about confiding your situation to a trusted friend will make the difficulties seem more managable and break the circle of worry / attack / worry about the attack / another attack, and get you on the road to full recovery. Best wishes - let us know how you get on.
