In the good auld days we used to have wing mirrors and a rear-view mirror stuck to t'inside roof.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.it depends for me, I have a good old look around when I reverse but the combination of a high seat back and a dodgy neck mean that my view is better if I use mirrors than actually turning around. I think that many car seats are higher in the back now than they used to be and of course headrests are more substantial. If I am reversing into a space, its much easier to get the white lines and cars in my mirrors than it is to actually look at them, I can see both sides just with eye movement.
