not sqad but pain relief of your choice, rest it slightly elevated but still bent, not dead straight, use an icepack (bag of frozen peas or corn moulds round the knee nicely), not on bare skin, put it in a pillowcase. keep it gently moving within your pain tolerance. use a stick in the opposite hand if you need one, and if stairs are a problem go up one step at time like a child does, leading up with your good leg and down with your injured one. If there is no improvement within about 4 days, not complete healing, just improvement, then to the doc.
