No you are not going crazy, a lot of people have similar problems.

Ask your Doctor to refer you to an hynotist or go private, I have seen this help a lot of people, of course there is no guarantee but it is well worth a try.

Did you not see what Paul Mckena (probably spelt wrong but you must know who I mean) did for people was like a mirical.

I hope this helps you, don't give up, good luck.

thanks alex but i dont have a proble with aliens lol, i didnt know wheteher to do that i thought it could only go in the right topics

Willow, dont know if you live in UK or US, but there was a 2 part series on about OCD on UK's channel 4.

1 person thought if he came in contact with pens he would confess to crimes he didnt comit

1 woman obessed with germs and keeping clean

1 woman didnt like glitter or dirt and therefore couldnt touch her kids husbands. had to use tissue to pick up mugs etc.

the show makers made these people all live in a house together with some experts to confront their fears. it worked for 2 of the people. the third person is having on-going treatment.

i live in the uk,shame i didnt realise that was on, i have seroiusly thought of seeinf a hypnotist hoping that may work, because its getting silly now, im doing ot in front of public and they cantthink that im very normal

Willow, if you dont go through the rituals what do you think will happen?

My sister has/ had (not sure if they still do occour) some problems too. If she thought of something horrible she thought it would come true and therefore had to go through some rituals in order to make the horrible thing not happen.

im not sure a hypnotist is the answer, you need to get to the bottom of why you do this and how it started.

willow, as newcliofan suggested, your problem might not be as bad as you think it is. I, for example:

- regularly turn round and return home to check if I shut the front door, sometimes as far as a mile from home.

- count the stairs each time I go up them

- have to wait until my pc has shut down BEFORE I switch off the monitor

- have to dress in a certain order

- when I lock the car I have to leave it in the gear I am next going to use

- and others.

So take heart, what you think is ott might not be !

I think something like Cognitive behavior therapy is seen as being the best treatment for OCD so you should perhaps talk to your doctor. OCD is rampant in my family and I've learnt you've got to nip it in the bud. Everyone in my family seems to get worse as they get older. My aunt is now at the stage where she can't have anything blue in her house and she freaks out if she is handed anything blue.
