she could have been tottering because she WAS drunk , M

altho I am not a great high heel man myself
Used to wear high heels...comfort more important now !!
When I was young, oh very young, I used to wear high, high heels. They didn't have the built up soles then though. A good soak in cold water in the evenings soothed the feet. Now I've got the making of a bunion so that's the price of very high heels. Couldn't do it now. Lower heels or almost flat. I'm sure these modern high heels can't be good for the knees.

it was around 9am, she was nicely dressed, and don't think she was one over the eight, she just had great difficulty in walking in these high heels, i would hazard they were 5/6 inch heels -
"Maria" on coronation street almost fell over on the cobbles in one episode. I had a good laugh. These young girls will suffer anything to be fashionable.
I put one foot in front of the other and walk like normal.

I think it helps as well if the shoes actually fit.
emmie, do you think that she may have been trying to make her self appear taller than she is.

another woman had high heels with platform soles, they were the ugliest shoes imaginable, nor could she do more than wobble, totter down the street

I remember my OH tottering around in them when we first got together,
A bit of dog-walking soon cured that.

the first woman was tall anyway, the shoes made her look like an amazon

You know what they say about 'objects in the rear view mirror tony!'
Watched a show last week and a Female Doctor (Consultant) regularly had Botox to allow her to work long hours in very high heels.

I have stumbled on The Corrie Cobbles myself, cannot blame my heels though -Hic!
As a mere man, I have never understood women and their choice of footwear one little bit. It would seem to me that most women would wear anything on their feet, no matter how daft and uncomfortable they were, if they were told it was the fashionable to do so.

I have 2 nieces, both in their late teens that won't go out if it is raining or snowing, as they don't have any suitable shoes to wear. The reason that they don't have suitable shoes is that they will only wear these strappy, high-heels affairs. When they were younger, they used to wear trainers but now snort in derision at the very thought of it. So they are depriving themselves of full access to the outside world because of sheer vanity. One of these nieces actually had her boyfriend, now fiance, carry her from the house to the car, just so she didn't get her feet wet.

That is all stopped now as I gave her boy friend an "Uncley" little chat one day and explained that he was just making a rod for his own back by doing something so demeaning.

But, as I said I am just a man and born with a rational brain, so what can I possibly know about womens shoes, or women in general really !

Just clicked on Mamya's link, those heels look like offensive weapons to me.
Treading the boards is one thing, did you try the cobbles?
